"And what feeds me? It's work to that end. Work to spark a new conversation about what we need to achieve our vision in the 21st century - a vision that includes well-educated, well-valued, well-respected teachers of young children who are role models for young people seeking meaningful careers. And what feeds me is encouraging a new wave of leaders and activists that our field - and our country - so sorely need." - Dr. Marcy Whitebook
"Regardless of
the history of IQ tests in the family, if I see nurturing, warm, interactive
people who read emotional signals well and interact well, usually I see happy,
competent and bright children." - Dr. Stanley Greenspan

“It was the most
joyful experience where I felt that everything within me was being called on to
teach. It was also very
rewarding. It made me feel whole.” Louise Derman-Sparks talking about her
first job in early education.
“My passion
comes from wanting to make a difference.
I truly believe that I am not here to save the world. I am here to just make a difference in
the community that I am working. To
me, making a difference may sometimes mean helping one child be able to be
successful in the classroom.”
Raymond Hernandez, MS Ed
I agree with the quote from Dr. Greenspan, children don't take a lot to be happy, to them it doesn't matter how smart you are as long as you interact with them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dr. Whitebook as well, if we offer better pay to child care workers, the field will be seen more as career instead of just a job.
